Madison Comprehensive High School & Adult Career Center Renew NIMS Accreditation
Keeping up with 21st Century standards of the metalworking industry, Madison Comprehensive High School and Madison Adult Career Center have renewed the NIMS accreditation of their Precision Machining and CNC Technology Programs as of November 13, 2014.
With this accreditation, the high school and adult education programs reaffirm their ongoing commitment to uphold the national industry standards that are set forth by NIMS, further enabling both programs to support the needs of students, the local community and employers within it, and to the metalworking industry at large.
The renewal review process was kicked off in 2013 and culminated in a fall 2014 On-Site Evaluation that occurred at the high school facility, which is also used by the adult program. The rigorous evaluation was conducted by NIMS Lead Evaluator Joan Cook (Executive Director, RICOWI, Inc.) who was very impressed, most notably by the exceptional reputation that both programs are known for among local employers.
Looking back, Adult Career Center Director Sonja Pluck noted that “this accreditation acknowledges the quality of our training and of our instructors! We take great pride in providing quality education for our students and contributing to the workforce needs of our community.”
These accreditations focus on skills from the NIMS Machining Level I National Standard, with an emphasis on CNC lathe and mill operations.
