Accreditation Renewed at Wayne County Area Technology Center
Keeping up with today’s industry skills standards, Wayne County Area Technology Center (Monticello, KY) has renewed the NIMS Accreditation of its Machine Tool Technology Program as of Friday, February 1, 2013. This is the program’s second time establishing itself as a NIMS-Accredited program, as it set this benchmark first in 2006. NIMS applauds the tech center for its continued commitment to meeting National Industry Standards for metalworking training.
In November 2012, NIMS Evaluator Sam Hart conducted a rigorous On-Site Evaluation at Wayne County Tech and was highly complementary of the program. In his evaluation Mr. Hart gave the program very high ratings in several evaluation areas of evaluation, including Program Purpose, Administration Support, and Instructional Staff.
This accreditation is in Level I Machining Skills, with an emphasis on:
- Measurement, Materials & Safety
- Job Planning, Benchwork, & Layout
- Milling I (manual)
- Drill Press I
- Grinding I
- Turning Operations: Turning Chucking
Congratulations to everyone involved in this accreditation renewal, especially Instructor Mark D. Smith for his time and effort! Special thanks also to NIMS evaluator Sam Hart for conducting the on-site visit!
