NIMS Accreditation Renewed at Guliford Technical Community College
We are pleased to announce that for the second time since 2004, the Computer Integrated Machining Program at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) of Jamestown, North Carolina has been awarded NIMS Accreditation for excellence in metalworking training. By maintaining their status as a NIMS-accredited program, the staff and faculty at GTCC have proven continued commitment to maintaining high standards for metalworking training in the state of North Carolina and for the greater industry in the United States.
Led by NIMS Team Leader Joan Cook, a one-day On-Site Evaluation occurred at the community college facility on April 25, 2012 which concluded with Ms. Cook's recommendation to officially renew the college training program's accreditation. Combined with evidence of the program's continuous efforts to credential students, NIMS officially renewed the accreditation as of September 28, 2012. In her final evaluation report, Ms. Cook noted that "the staff, program, administration, and advisory committee work diligently to provide quality training for the industry."
Congratulations to everyone involved in this process, especially Instructor Derek Seeke for his efforts towards the accreditation renewal process and to maintaining high standards in training overall. Special thanks to Joan Cook for leading this evaluation.
