On October 27th, 2011, the 2011 Manufacturing Summit will convene at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. with a number of esteemed guests to discuss the future of American manufacturing.  The Chief and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Reserves, Lieutenant General Jack Stultz, will be discussing the opportunities and implications of soldiers returning from overseas service being reintroduced to the workforce.  Margot Tyler of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will discuss the opportunities afforded by the Gates Millennium Scholars program. Bloomberg's lead labor analyst Albert Palacio will review strategies for delivering skills training through a variety of sources.

General Stultz's appearance is particularly appropriate since the revisions to the GI Bill went into effect on October 1 and include on-the-job training and apprenticeship as part of the education benefits.

These presenters are joining Assistant Secretary of Labor Jane Oates and a panel of national manufacturers who will discuss regional training initiatives and effective small business strategies for today's competitive economic climate.
