Walter S. Gasper from Hamill Manufacturing, Trafford, PA, won the 38th Annual NTMA/NIMS National Apprenticeship Competition conducted in Indianapolis, IN.  Scott Frombaugh, Rochester Manufacturing, Cleveland, OH, took second place honors and Dallas Schloesser, Six Sigma, Inc, Louisville, KY,  won third place.  Mr. Gasper has also succeeded in earning ten NIMS credentials, plus the NIMS Special Certificate of Merit.

In winning the competition, Mr. Gasper won a major prize for his sponsor.  Hamill Manufacturing will receive a 30 percent discount on a wire EDM from GF Agie Charmilles plus 25 to 30 percent off for tooling and accessories. This award has a value is up to $100,000. Harry Moser,  NIMS Board member and long time supporter of the competition, is Chairman Emeritus of GF Agie Charmilles.

The competition was hosted by the Indiana Chapter of the NTMA and conducted at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis on June 10-12.
