Dan Sunia’s Program at Petaluma Earns California’s Golden Bell Award
The Engineering Design and Apprenticeship Trades Skills at Petaluma Joint Union High School District, under the direction of Dan Sunia, has been honored by the California School Boards Association with the award of its prestigious Golden Bell Award.
The Golden Bell Awards program, now in its 31st year, promotes excellence in education by recognizing outstanding programs in school districts and county offices of education throughout California.
The program at Petaluma is NIMS accredited and Mr. Sunia hold four NIMS certifications with his students annually earning NIMS credentials. Mr. Sunia is an active leader in workforce development and education in precision metalworking. Petaluma and Mr. Sunia have been members of the Haas Technical Education Center Network (HTEC) and he was a high school representative on the HTEC National Executive Committee during 2009-2010.
